Ecclesia Gnostica
Paracelsus: The Future and Meaning of Human Health and Disease - Part 4 of 5 - Sept. 22 2017
In this fourth installment of his five part lecture series on Paracelsus, Stephan Hoeller continues his exploration of alchemy's contribution to our Western understanding of illness and health.
Paracelesus' hyletic / psychic / pneumatic typology maps to different expressions of illness. These different experiences of illness, per Paracelsus, have an ultimate origin in spiritual causes related to the disunified nature of the individual.
Desire and ideologies can prevent the state of inward receptivity which is necessary to effect spiritual healing. Hoeller discusses how other thinkers such as H.P. Blavatsky, Jung, Kierkegaard and Master Ekhart identified similar dynamics across time.
Established in America in 1928, The Gnostic Society is dedicated to
advancing the study, understanding, and individual experience of Gnosis. "He who has ears, let him hear!"
