Moira Lo Bianco: Musician and Sound Therapist

Moira Lo Bianco has been immersed in and worked with sound since childhood. She is a professional musician, enjoying a creative practice as a composer and pianist, and a sound therapist, exploring the impact of sound on humans’ health and wellness. In the realm of music, she embraces a multifaceted approach to composition; she traverses musical styles in creating works from concert music to multidisciplinary projects. In the realm of sound therapy, she facilitates listening experiences, helping the body and the mind auto-regulate and restore balance.

As both a musician and a practitioner of the healing arts, Moira brings together sound and music with meditation and yoga. Through her work, Moira reflects on the importance of deep listening as a way to foster a sense of wholeness, while investigating the mind-body connection through the integration of the physical and the energetic, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual bodies. As an educator, Moira has developed several curricula, bringing mindfulness into her teaching approach. She often presents her programs in collaboration with colleges, public schools, and community based arts organizations, reaching diverse populations of different ages and abilities.

Hailing from Italy, Moira earned her B.M. and M.M. degrees from F. Torrefranca Conservatory, and later a B.A. degree from TorVergata University of Rome. Thanks to a scholarship, she attended Berklee College of Music where she earned a B.M. degree. Moira has also pursued advanced Yoga education, and she is a RYT 500; additional certifications include Sound Therapy, Meditation, Yoga Nidra, and Trauma-Informed Yoga.
